Our Facility
1,500 sq. ft. Sanctuary
The sanctuary is a haven for stray and abandoned cats and kittens that come here to follow a medical protocol and find a forever home. The sanctuary has been expanded over the years as more cats and kittens find a temporary home at RESQCATS.
The facilities consists of a 1500 square feet building divided into communal areas, an isolation ward and roomy indoor enclosures connected to large outdoor "playgrounds" for resident cats who prefer to live alone. This is the temporary home of cats and kittens while they go through an established medical protocol and await adoption. The facility is also a sanctuary for resident cats and kittens that are not adoptable due to health, attitude, age or other reasons.
Outdoor Areas
The residents enjoy large outdoor areas that gives them opportunity to enjoy the fresh air of the "outdoors" while still being completely protected from the outdoor dangers...traffic, predators, cat fights, disease, etc. They enjoy over 750 feet of overhead "cat trails" that allows them to walk from one outdoor enclosure to another. Large outdoor enclosures give them a taste of the outside with trees to climb and places to perch to watch nature, but in a safe environment.
Communal Room & Enclosures
The large communal room is where some of the resident cats live together in harmony. Cats and kittens that are available for adoption have their own individual enclosure.
Each enclosure is 4' wide by 8' long and 7' from floor to ceiling. Each is furnished with a large crate with soft blankets, a cat tree, scratching post, litter box, plenty of food and fresh water and, of course, lots of kitty toys. In addition, a ramp leads to a high shelf with a window and provides a panoramic view of the outside.
Kittens await adoption and are always curious to see what happens out there...
