Adopt a Cat
Adopting a cat is a long-term commitment. It is important to understand that the average life span of an indoor cat is 13 plus years. Adoption is a commitment that requires you to provide a lifetime home for the cat! It is a responsibility to be thought through carefully and taken seriously. But that commitment is more than worth the rewards and unconditional love that you will receive in return.
If you are interested in adoption, please give me a call or send me an email.
Follow us on Facebook at RESQCATS or Jeffyne Telson where you can see gorgeous photos of the cats that are available for adoption.

Don't forget that RESQCATS also has
adult cats that
need homes.
Many of them are young mother cats who
would just love to have a home to call
their own and were just kittens
themselves when they become pregnant.
Adoption Process
Step 1: Phone Interview
We'll start the adoption process with a phone interview. I'll tell you about RESQCATS and do my best to answer any questions you have. Then I will ask you a few probing questions pertaining to the welfare, safety, medical care and family environment provided for the cat. In addition to this pre-screening telephone interview, an adoption application will need to be filled out once you qualify.
Step 3: Bring Your Cat Home
You and your cat will go home with:
A health record of what has been done and when
Full examination by a veterinarian
Tested for feline leukemia and FIV viruses
First FVRCP (upper respiratory) vaccination
Fecal exam and worming medication.
Spay or neuter surgery
Micro-chip
A schedule of when follow-up vaccines and worming are due
Sterility certificate
Micro-chip information
Tips on bringing your kitty home and how to introduce him or her to your other animals, if that is applicable.
Our Adoption Policy
All cats need time to adjust to a new home. However, if you feel it's not working out within the initial adjustment period, RESQCATS will always take the cat back to find another home.
If any additional care is needed prior to adoption, RESQCATS provides any and all medical care to make sure to the best of our ability that you are adopting a healthy cat.
Every year we find homes for many cats. But sometimes they arrive and need more than our standard medical protocol. They are often young moms who are still kittens themselves! Some can barely take care of their kittens due to their own condition from being on the streets. They may be malnourished, injured or have other serious issues. At RESQCATS, they receive whatever medical treatment they need: antibiotics, subcutaneous fluids, X-rays, extensive testing and/or emergency care. RESQCATS works closely with veterinarian specialists in orthopedics, internal medicine, cardiology, as well as certified board surgeons to provide the best care possible. These kitties usually require longer stays at RESQCATS in order to recover before being eligible for adoption.
I believe that every life is precious and worth saving so I go to extra lengths to make sure that every cat gets the care they need to live a long and happy life.
Thank you for considering adopting an adult cat from RESQCATS. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!
